Grandma and Josh

Josh loves the flowers at Grandma's house. He insistend on putting together quite a large bouquet. His favorite flower color, orange. His favorite breakfast bowl color, pink. His favorite coloring color, brown.

We finally got a picture of Josh and Daniel together. Josh insisted on covering himself and Daniel with the "family blanket".

County Fair

We went to the county fair. Josh tried two rides, the cars and the "tea cups", which looked strangly like apples. Other than that, Josh was more interested in watching and declared some of the more thrill-seeking rides "amazing".

3:00 am

Last night Josh slept in his big boy bed! It was his choice to do it. At 3:00 am we heard the call "Daddy, come here please". Uh-oh. But wait, it was 3:00 am and Daniel hadn't woken up yet, this was great. Scott did the social diaper change visit and put Josh back to bed, the big boy bed (Josh's choice). 3:15ish - Daniel wakes up, eats and is back asleep fairly quickly. Meanwhile, Josh has decided it's fun to be in a big boy bed and proceeds to talk/sing/who knows in a loud voice until 5:00 am. Daniel then wakes up at 5:30 am.

It was almost a night of good sleep.

Josh-isms for July

• No, me. I can do it.
• It's not for mommies and daddies. Only big boys can do it.
• Mommy keeps buying me things.
• But, we can go to the store and buy it.

The Miracle

Daniel is a perpetual swaddle breaker. We just cannot get this kid swaddled for more than 1/2 hour. We finally broke down and tried the "Miracle Blanket". It is sort of a straight-jacket for babies, but it worked. For 2 nights now he has stayed swaddled all night long. Not that we doubled any sleep periods, but the past two nights have felt a little better...
