Fun and Ice Cream at the County Fair

Josh had fun riding the rides at the county fair. Unfortunately, he was also starting to get a cold that day so he didn't enjoy as much as we thought he would. Daniel thinks that ice cream is pretty serious business.

Two Chocolate Lovers, One Clown

Looks like Daniel is going to be our family clown. Just like his brother, he loves chocolate.

August 2009 Update

Daniel at 13 months
  • Is just about walking. He has taken a few steps but still defaults to crawling when he really needs to get somewhere.
  • Still loves, loves, loves balls.
  • Is getting a new tooth.
  • Says "ball, mommy, car, airplane, milk, no" and "no, no, no, no" and occasionally "dada"

Josh, just shy of 4 years
  • Has been growing like crazy. He can reach all sorts of light switches and other things all of a sudden.
  • Is now scared of the dark. But, we've had good luck with adding a new light to his room. We aren't sure how he can sleep in there it is so bright, but it seems to be working.
  • Is drawing amazing pictures of "mobile apartment homes", trains and dinosaurs.
  • Said this when we got in the car this morning. (whispered) "Daniel, I have a story to tell you. I love you. The end."
  • Always, always, always wants us to tell him a story. As soon as you get in the car. "Tell me a story." He has learned that daddy is always willing to tell a story. Mommy limits her storytelling to once a day. Josh's M.O. is to make the story "tricky". You start saying something and then Josh does his best to inject a wrinkle into your plot. I've asked him "who's telling this story?". The response is always "You and me are both telling the story."

Happy Birthday Nana!

Nana, Grandpa, Great Grandpa Larry and June visited us and we got to celebrate Nana's birthday. Aunt Shana brought a yummy chocolate cake which both Josh and Daniel loved. Daniel was going through some more of his "mommy, mommy, mommy" phase. Josh had fun playing the new games and toys that Great Grandpa and June brought over.

Fun In the Big City

We ventured to the big city to go to attend our cousin's wedding. The first highlight of the trip was staying at Uncle Ben's house. The first thing Josh said when we pulled up in front of Ben's house "Uncle Ben, where is your car?" and the second was "Uncle Ben you are one of my favorite people". The second highlight was going to see the dinosaurs at the museum. Josh seemed to enjoy it a little bit. And Daniel, well, he went along for the ride.
