Happy Halloween

Jupiter is complete. Great Red Spot, armholes, and Josh's custom color "mustard brown" (which consisted of no brown) all came together for Josh's Halloween costume. It turns out, creating one costume was enough for us, so Daniel was a hand-me-down pumpkin, but a very cute pumpkin. "Jupiter" won "Most Original" costume at the neighborhood Halloween parade and party (which made mommy happy). Daniel was in a bad mood all day and was not happy unless mommy was holding him, or he was rolling around in wet grass. We had lots of family over for Halloween and trick-or-treating. Similar to last year, Josh didn't even make it around the block before he decided "he had enough candy", which is probably a good thing.
Happy Halloween!

Mommy, mommy, mommy

Mommy, why did you go downstairs and close this gate so I couldn't come after you?

Carving Pumpkins

Making silly faces while carving pumpkins (after Daniel was sleeping). The pumpkin on the left is Josh's original design. He wanted to make a scary pumpkin. We think he succeeded. Josh will not put his hand anywhere near the inside of a pumpkin. Tears were coming out of his eyes when I was teasing him and put some "pumpkin guts" on his hands.

It's broken

It happened. Even though I put my camera up high, I accidentally left the strap hanging over the side. Mr. Curiosity, aka. Daniel, got a hold of it and the camera landed with a thunk. The lens was completely broken and my other lens will not auto-focus. Since I'm completely dependent on the "automatic" mode, this won't work for me. The camera is at the camera store, to figure out if it can be repaired.

Jupiter is born

What do you want to be for Halloween, Josh?
Jupiter.
Are you sure you don't want to be a fireman or a race car driver?
No, I want to be Jupiter.

Thank goodness for the internet. We found how someone made a Saturn costume and now we are hoping that Jupiter will be wearable by Halloween. This is part 1, paper mache-ing a paper lantern.
